Cold Cold Canyon Platform

Cold Cold Canyon, a venue in Finesse, is a winter wonderland with a bit of sci-fi flavor. As one would expect from a snowy landscape, this level has a lot of white. Thus, it made sense to go with a very dark material. At the time this platform was made, the idea was for all of them to be made of wood. That was later scrapped, but I liked the surface enough to keep it in!

The dark parts are made from an arrowhead cut wenge wood. Snow is represented by white painted wood that looks like scoops of ice cream have been taken from it. Like the Flat Flat Plains platform, the central icon is a mix of preset masks in Substance. The mesh was made in Blender. The mesh itself was made in Blender.

Smile Smile Isle Platform

Smile Smile Isle, a venue in Finesse, is a tropical paradise with pastel colors all around. This grayscale piece contrasts with the level as a whole, adding balance.

The main triangle pattern is adapted from the "Italian Venice Floor Mosaic Tile" material asset from the Substance 3D assets store. Two thin rings on the lower tier of the stage feature a custom reflective material that has a voronoi pattern on the roughness map. This same texture appears on the sides of the piece. Flat Flat Plains Platform

Flat Flat Plains, a venue in Finesse, is a peaceful chateauesque environment where the player stands above a peaceful pond. As the very first platform the player uses, this is the simplest and sets the tone for the more complex ones to follow.

I used preset alpha masks within Substance Painter to make the sun-like icon in the middle. The mesh itself was made in Blender.
